Measure the attachment.
Use the manufacturer’s specification for your exact reference, or measure the gap between the inside edges of the lugs. This is different from lug-to-lug length, which describes how far the watch spans along your wrist.
Check the end shape and spring bars.
Straight ends, curved ends and integrated fittings are different arrangements. Check case clearance, bar dimensions and any quick-release mechanism with the seller. Two straps with the same stated width may still attach differently.
Choose enough length.
Measure your wrist and consult the seller’s sizing guide. If you already have a comfortable strap, compare its two segment lengths and clasp position. Allow for the case length and the way the clasp sits under your wrist.
Choose a material that fits the routine.
Quick release makes removal easier; it does not make a strap universal. The Chrono Straps UK 20 mm brown leather strap is a standard straight-lug example with a listed length and buckle. If you want rubber shaped around a particular watch, the Epoch Seamaster 300 FKM strap is made to order; confirm the full watch reference and measurements before ordering. If the seller has not published a water-use rating for leather, keep it dry. The strap itself never changes the watch’s water-resistance rating.
For parts, use the exact reference.
Crystals, bezels, crowns, bracelets and movement components need more than a similar appearance. Give the seller the exact watch or movement reference and request compatibility confirmation before ordering. A discount does not make an incompatible component useful.
Apply the code after checking fit.
Our strap and parts offer hub lists the supplied partner codes. Check the selected item’s eligibility and the final checkout total. Return conditions and shipping matter if you are unsure about fit.
A few good questions.
Is lug width the same as case diameter?
No. Case diameter measures the watch body; lug width is the gap where the strap attaches. Use the attachment measurement when choosing a replacement strap.
Will a straight-end strap fit an integrated bracelet watch?
Do not assume it will. Integrated attachments can require a reference-specific adapter or strap. Confirm compatibility for the exact watch with the seller.
What strap length should I order?
Use your wrist measurement and the seller’s length guide, accounting for the watch case and clasp arrangement. Compare with the dimensions of a strap that already fits comfortably.
Does quick release make a watch strap fit every watch?
No. Quick release changes how you remove the spring bar; it does not change the lug width or make a straight strap fit an integrated, curved or proprietary attachment.
Should I choose leather or FKM rubber for a watch strap?
Choose for the intended use and the exact fit. Leather creates a warmer look and should be kept dry when no water-use rating is published; FKM rubber is the material choice when a seller explicitly lists it for a sport strap. Neither strap changes the water rating of the watch itself.
